US Nintendo Download Update for this week

The DSi Ware and Virtual Console updates this week for America are a little special, but Wii Ware is not left out either.

The American Nintendo Download update is certainly worthy of following this week, not only because it has the first western DSi Ware game to hit the DSi Ware shop but also the first game from Activision to hit the Virtual Console.

But back to the DSi Ware for now, first up is the recently revealed Mixed Messages from Vicarious Visions. Available for 500 Points the game is a multiplayer game of finish my sentence.

Mixed Messages is the hilarious party game of mixed-up miscommunication. Sketch a picture to capture your friends’ sentence, or try to figure out what in the world they’ve drawn. You might start with, “”The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”” and end up with “”A crazy surfer outruns flying sticks of dynamite while his fans cheer!”” 2 to 21 players take turns writing sentences and drawing pictures to pass along a message. This isn’t a game about winning and losing – it’s all about the funny miscommunications that happen along the way. You’ll laugh when you see just how wacky things can get. Get together with your friends and mix it up.

Also on the DSi Shop is another Express Master of Illusion title, this one pulls magic tricks from the Master of Illusion title. This one is 200 Points and thusly you know what level of depth you can expect.

On the Wii side, the Virtual Console gets Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure from the Sega Megadrive, the game is the first game from Activision on the Virtual Console, hopefully this means more of their back catalogue will arrive on the console. Wii Ware gets Party Fun Pirate for 500 Points. Based on the popular Pop-Up Pirate toy, players take turns thrusting swords into a barrel that holds your captain captive, trying to see who can insert the most swords into the barrel. Thrust a sword into the wrong hole and you’ll send your captain flying.

This now means the DSi Ware has got its first update to the store a fortnight after launch, so just what is happening to the DSi Shop schedule?
