If one developer took on the casual gaming flag last year with the Wii and Nintendo DS it had to be Ubisoft. Even though these games may be cheaper for Ubisoft to create, selling them is another matter all together. “”The margins on these games are good when you look at development, but it takes a lot of marketing dollars,”” said Ubisofts North American president Laurent Detoc in a new interview. He acknowledged the Wii in particular has been difficult for Ubisoft to find success with. More inside Pointing to the console’s generous sales, he noted that games published for the Wii made up only 10 percent of Ubisoft’s sales last year, and added that the company will need to work harder to create games that will “”sell as well as Nintendo’s own Wii titles.”” How about before that, make your games so that they play like Nintendos.
