Ubisoft loves new Nintendo platforms, now theyre spreading their love to the next Wii

Whenever there’s a new Nintendo console you can be assured of at least one thing, Ubisoft’s support. Both on the Wii and the Nintendo 3DS, Ubisoft has been the publisher most behind the console in terms of volume and heart. Not all of their games have been great at launch but at least they’re trying.

Now there attention is turning the Wii’s successor. At an financial earning call today, CEO of Ubisoft Yves Guillemot was asking about what the company has in store for the new platform.

"First, the platform Nintendo is coming with is really a fantastic platform," said Guillemot. "We think it will be extremely successful and what we see is that we will be able to leverage a lot of the work that we do for Xbox 360 and PS3 when we will create games for the platform. We will not have to redo completely the games we create. We’ll be able to use all the capacities the console is giving, but also use all the work that we do for the other platforms."

To put it simply, expect to see a lot of games you’ve seen on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on the Wii successor for launch. It’s good to see Ubisoft with support early, let’s just hope their launch efforts are more quality than quantity, which is what we didn’t see on the Nintendo 3DS.

Assassins Creed anyone?
