Press Release Inside
AUSTRALIA Ubisoft, one of the worlds largest video game publishers, is pleased to announce the creation of UBI|art|. UBI|art| is a new brand of products based on Ubisoft video games. T-shirts, figurines, stuffed animals, books, posters and more will showcase the extraordinary creative talent of the Ubisoft teams while replying to gamers demand for products based on their favourite video game characters.
The talented artists from Ubisoft studios are behind the creation of UBI|art|, bringing into the spotlight their creative endeavours in media beyond video game development. The artwork created during the game development process is the source of inspiration for the UBI|art| products. The artwork is then reworked and adapted to different media such as paper, in the form of posters, lithographs or books or adapting a game character into a 3D figurine in resin or vinyl. The quality of these creations is assured by the talents from Ubisofts worldwide studios.
A website showcasing the first UBI|art| creations, based on Rayman Raving Rabbids is now live. The Rabbids, who have already incited a cult following on the internet, are shown in playful mini-figurines with accessories, statuettes, colourful T-shirts and stuffed animals. Other product ranges such as stationary, calendar or posters will soon be added. In 2007, other Ubisoft brands will join the Rabbids on ubi-art.com.
UBI|art| products will of course attract fans of Ubisoft games, but will also appeal to wider public who should appreciate the design, originality and quality of the creations.
Ubisoft fans have always asked for quality products that pay homage to Ubisofts cult games. With UBI|art|, we are happy to make their wishes a reality! said Yves Guillemot, CEO at Ubisoft.
