Just like the Nintendo DS and Wii, Ubisoft is at it again at the launch of another Nintendo console. They have 8 games for launch and as such, are the publisher with the most support on the console at launch. Some might say that having all these titles (and with questionable quality on some) isn’t a good thing, Ubisoft sure think they’re doing a good thing.
The brand manager of Ubisoft explains just why there are so many Ubisoft games on launch. "We’re expecting the 3DS to have a broad consumer appeal from launch and, as such, have ensured we offer a variety of titles. We’ve historically been a leader in games developed for new Nintendo platforms, and with eight games available during launch and more to come; we hope to maintain this position."
So there’s no doubt that some of the Ubisoft games coming to launch are ports (as are a lot of others) and could not be entirely brilliant games, but, the fact remains they are bringing a lot of games to the launch and a its a positive sign of support.
What do you think? Is Ubisoft just putting out as many games as it is a good thing? Are they doing the right thing? Are you picking up any of Ubisoft’s games on day one?
