Ubisoft acquires Guitar Hero Live, DJ Hero developers FreeStyleGames

Well that’s probably it for Guitar Hero... again.

Ubisoft has announced that it has acquired the studio behind both DJ Hero and the latest Guitar Hero title.

FreeStyleGames will be renamed Ubisoft Leamington, named after it’s location in Leamington Spa in the UK. The boss of Ubisoft Reflections will be taking over the head role at the studio;

We’re thrilled to have their expertise within the group, and the team at Reflections are looking forward to creating great things together.

That’s pretty much confirmation that Guitar Hero Live won’t be returning and Activision rivival of the franchise could be over.

The game available for $25 at stores, with guitars probably was enough of a sign though.
