Two new Monster Hunter titles on the way to 3DS this year

Not one, but two new Monster Hunter games were announced during last night’s Japanese Nintendo Direct, Monster Hunter X (Cross) and Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Palico Village DX.
Firstly, Monster Hunter X (Cross) is a brand new game in the Monster Hunter series which while looking like Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will play more like the Frontier series of games. Monsters both new and old will be featured in this game.
The second game is an updated version of a PSP title which was released in 2001. Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Palico Village DX is a little similar to Animal Crossing which is great because it will also feature characters from Animal Crossing. It’s a Monster Hunter for a younger audience.
Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Palico Village DX is due out in September while X (Cross) will be released closer to Christmas. Both games of course are only set for a Japanese release so far.
Monster Hunter has become more and more popular outside of Japan as of late – do you think we’ll see these ones released here?
I certainly hope they come to the West!
Nope, we’ll get Monster Hunter X Ultimate in 2016 instead and the title screen will feature such a fierce animation to emphasize the “ultimate” aspect that the console will literally explode and murder the player..
