When Toys R Us began taking pre-orders for the Wii a few months ago, many believed its cited ‘Preorder a Wii and get a Free Game’ offer sounded a little too good to be true. All the while Toys R Us never (deliberately) mentioned what game you would receive, or if you would have a choice of games for your bonus game.

Details on the game you might receive are inside, its confusing to say the least We recieved emails from many members telling us stories from various Toys R Us stores that the Ubisoft game Open Season is now designated as the game you will receive in your preorder offer. We investigated and found that at least in the closet store to us this was true. However…

UPDATE: We have now contacted 4 Different Toys R Us Stores, producing mixed results. Some stores are telling us the “”Open Season”” version of the story, while others maintain that Zelda is a bonus. Some also seem to have the belief that there is no deal being offered at all, and lastly “”We dont know”” also crops up as a response. It seems Toys R Us stores have no idea what’s going on, so until then we advise that you dont cancel your preorder and wait for Monday when things will perhaps be revealed more clearly. Vooks will keep you posted.

One thing is certain though, is that Toys R US have announced a new preorder deal, the ‘Zelda Family Pack’. The bundle, which retails at $729, includes the Wii Console bundled with Wii Sports along with 2 Wii Remotes, Wii Console Bag and 4 Games including titles such as Zelda Twilight Princess, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Open Season and Need for Speed Carbon, along with $400 worth of savings coupons.
