Toon Link returns in Super Smash Bros. Wii U & 3DS

A week out from the release of Wind Waker HD here in Australia, the official website for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. has revealed the return of Toon Link.

The toon version of Hyrule’s hero is on display in several stunning Wii U and 3DS screenshots, and quite frankly, has never looked better.

Judging by these images, Toon Link will once again be fast and agile with quite a swing on him. Of course, he’s still quite vulnerable in the midst of battle.

So what do you think about this latest reveal for Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS? Happy to hear Toon Link is back, or would you have preferred Nintendo to show something else? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

I’ve been writing about video games since 2006 and playing them since I was a kid. I started out with a copy of Mario & Yoshi on the Game Boy and before I knew it was in debt to Tom Nook. These days I spend much of my time trawling the eShop for the latest downloadable hit.

I always preferred using Toon Link over Link so I’m definitely happy about it, plus it was a good idea to keep him with Windwaker being re-released. I just hope they bring back Mewtwo and Roy from SSBM because I loved using them over Lucario and Ike, but I doubt it. They will prbably bring Chrom though because of Awakening but he’s too similar to Marth. Lucina would be a nice touch though.

I really have no idea why anybody would buy this game on 3DS.
This game is best during multiplayer and that is always better on consoles than handhelds.
Also, the graphics look very GBA or early DS for the 3DS version.
I’ll definitely be sticking to the Wii U version.
