The next Tony Hawk venture will be coming to all platforms and will require the use of a new, motion-controlled skateboard peripheral to play.

The announcement was made with today’s launch of the teaser site, coinciding with a hands-on showing of the game on Gametrailers TV with Mr Tony Hawk himself. The game shuns the usage of Nintendo’s own Balance Board, used in last years ‘Skate it’ from EA sports, instead demanding that gamers pick up the new dedicated peripheral in order to pull off tricks in-game.

The pseudo-skateboard has a built-in sensor along the side that can detect sweeping motions with your other foot in order to speed up your skateboard. Different? Yes. Cheap? Don’t count on it.

The game is headed to the Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and the site hints that more will be revealed on June 2nd – Why, that’s when E3 is!
