Nintendo really struggle with the legal system and the Wii Remote. They get sued over the thing left and right for supposed patent infringements. So what if they tried to trademark “”Wii Remote””? Well, they did. But, of course, they couldn’t. Reportedly, the term “”remote”” is too generic for the USPTO. “”Why don’t they just trademark ‘WiiMote’ then?”” you say? Well, don’t forget what they said during the WiiMote vs. Weemote fiasco. (Basically, “”We never called it the WiiMote.
