A month of so ago it was reported that Nintendo had not given third party developers the documentation for accessing the Wii controllers memory and speaker. However in a better late then never type of situation the documentation has now been passed onto the developers. Keep reading inside for more information.
Studios have told IGN that the latest update the Wii developer documentation now explains and clarifies how to use the Wiimote speaker ala Twilight Princess used it at this years E3. Also detailed is the flash memory that the Wiimote possesses. With just 3.9KBs of memory to be had its not that much however the controller can still game saves and preferences such as sensitivity. The sad thing is that is can only store one games memory at a time how useful this makes the memory remains to be seen, or perhaps by one profile they mean that every time you play a game with your Wiimote is remembers your setting. At this point we’ll wait for clarification from Nintendo.

Its good to see Nintendo get the specs out developers even if were only a few months shy of the release date.
