The Wii U has now gone on sale in North America, Canada and the rest of the Americas.
By far the biggest launch event, as usual was the Nintendo World store in New York where Reggie Fils-Aime warmed up the crowd before handing over the first Wii U in North America to Triforce. Isaiah Triforce Johnson has been lining up for weeks for his chance to not only get the Wii U but to ensure he was first to get it.
Just hours before the Wii U went on sale Nintendo also pushed out the first Wii U system update enabling Miiverse, the eShop and more. We’ll have more on that in another story soon.
So there’s just 11 days now until the Wii U launches in Australia, New Zealand Europe. The wait just got harder.
