Following the trend of many other television programmes, casual game developer MumboJumbo has procured the licensed rights to the live action sitcom from NBC Universal. The company plans to turn “”The Office”” into a humorous title where the player has the objective of handling jobs and playing pranks at Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch.

More Inside However, the developers have admitted to the game’s simplicity and low cost, citing that the game will not be available to high powered home consoles because of this reason. The current platforms currently planned for release are the Nintendo DS and $ony Playstation Portable handhelds along with the PC. PC gamers will be able to download the game, most likely direct from NBC.

At the moment this sounds like it will have to be pretty cheap to entice a purchase on the DS. Simplicity and low cost seem to scream “”cash-in”” like some kind of demented banshee. MumboJumbo are also expected to make more games in the future after this deal so don’t expect this to be the last interactive Dunder Mifflin you see.
