The New Nintendo 3DS models went on sale in Japan last week and the results are in! Just how well did it sell?
Numbers published by Famitsu have revealed that the New 3DS shifted 61,151 units while the 3DS XL the more popular choice with 172,332 units selling over the launch weekend period. That’s just under three times as more popular.
It seems the Japanese fancy the larger screen over the smaller one and the oh-so-cute cover plates!
We’ve been covering the New Nintendo 3DS all week, so hit up this link if you want to read more, this link if you want to watch more.

No surprise here.
The XL model was the only model bundled with MH4G.
I’m with the three quarters of New 3DS buyers: bigger is better.
Indeed, when buying my Nintendo 3DS for an amazingly cheap price of $120 I found out pretty quickly that I simply can not stand the small screen size (Also the 3D effect is very finicky/has a super tight sweet spot which is frustrating and made the feature too annoying to use).
The small screen you can barely see anything, it’s also not that great for larger hands.
