The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D changes Link’s swimming
Spoilers: If you haven’t played Majora’s Mask this might spoil some of the fun of it for you.
If it wasn’t zipping around Termina field with the Goron Mask at high speed then dolphin diving and fishing around in the Great Bay with the Zora mask was a close second on the ‘fun pointless things to do in Majora’s Mask’.
It looks like the fun times are over in Majora’s Mask 3D however with early media showing that the swimming fun has been severly nerfed in the remake. You’ll now need magic to zip around under water with the same speed as the Nintendo 64 version. Magic as you know is a limited resource…
There’s a positive to this however, in the Great Bay Temple controlling the nimble Zora Link was somewhat challenging in the tight confines of the temple – this does fix this ‘issue’.
We’re hoping that somewhere in the game there’s a scale or something that allows you unlock unlimited fun swimming – well how else are you going to beat the beavers?
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D is out February 14th, tell your loved one you’re other occupied now.
Seems they just rolled the old speed with the electric attack. I don’t mind the change. As mentioned, you’ll bump your head a hundred times in the dungeon with old version. Plus, the sea isn’t that large in the game and you don’t visit it so often that I’ll miss this too much. I find with these games that I always have more magic than I’ll ever need.
Pretty gay, you had to be pretty hopeless if you were constantly swimming in to walls, especially in that temple.
