Update: The latest Mythical Pokémon is missing in action in Australia

A Pokémon so mythical you can't even get it

Update 3: A number of readers have messaged us to let us know that some people have been getting Australian Zeraora codes from the TPCi email support line. One person close to Vooks has confirmed that they have received one in the last week and showed us the email. Simply click here to submit a support request, mention that you’re from Australia, and hope for the best. We can’t guarantee you’ll get one, but given there don’t seem to be any plans to distribute the Zeraora event here, it’s worth a try.

Update 2: The Pokemon Company International, while still not having replied to our request for comment, have emailed some users rescinding previous information given by support staff. According to the new email from TPCi, EB Games “will not be distributing codes for Zeraora.” They did not clarify as to whether this meant Australia will not be getting the distribution at all, or whether it will be distributed through other means. TPCi have also removed any mention of the event from the official Australian Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon website. We’ll continue to update this story as it develops.

Update: While we haven’t heard from TPCi ourselves, a few people have gotten responses from a TPCi representative via email. They said that the distribution should be up and running by this Friday. You can see the email text in the tweet below.

The original article continues below.

Remember Zeraora, the fuzzy electric Mythical Pokémon? We were first introduced to it back in April, and trainers around the world are currently able to get him in their games through an event code. If you live in Australia though, things are a little bit more complicated.

Earlier this month, the official Pokémon website updated with all the details on how to get Zeraora in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. In some countries, it was to be distributed through the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter, but for most countries, it was going to be available at a retailer. In the US, it’s GameStop, in the UK, it’s GAME. And in Australia, it’s EB Games… except it isn’t.

Although the distribution was meant to start on October 19, the date came and went, and not a single EB Games store was stocked. We reached out to EB Games on twitter, and they told us that not only did stores not have the codes, EB’s buying team has not been contacted to distribute the Pokémon in Australia.

So right now, nobody really knows what’s going on, and Zeraora is still missing in action in Australia. Maybe it’s an error on the Pokémon website, or maybe it’s just taking a little while for the codes to be printed. In any case, it’s looking like this might be another event distribution that Australia misses out on — it certainly wouldn’t be the first.

We reached out to Nintendo Australia for comment, however Pokémon distribution is handled by The Pokémon Company International, so they were unable to provide us with any details. We’ll be sure to update this article if we hear anything from TPCi.
