The game will be published by THQ, and according to their head of ‘Kids, Family and Casual Games’ division Doug Clemmer, the games will have “original gameplay elements that create an experience never previously seen before on the Wii system”. Yup, that means waving the Wii remote around in emulation of the film’s element-summoning fighting style.
Gamers will be able to choose from three playable characters – Aang, Zuko and the Blue Spirit. Fans of the original cartoon can look forward to such elemental attacks as Air Vortexes, Tornadoes, Fire Balls and Fire Bombs.
The June release date for the Wii and DS games will coincide with the film that comes out in cinemas in the US next month. Unfortunately, Aussies are gonna have to wait until September – meaning we’ll have the game sitting on store shelves for months before we get to see the movie.
Get in quick, they go fast.
