Lucasarts has today sent word that the Wii will now be receiving a version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Yes thats right, Lucasarts are finally building a Star Wars game for the Wii that includes a special duel mode for Lightsaber fights with your friends. The game will utilize the Wiimote as the Lightsaber naturally, and the nunchuck for using force powers. More inside
Its not just a simple Lightsaber Fighting game however. Like its other console cousins the game has a story mode which puts you as Darth Vaders Secret Apprentice and is set between the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Youll be tagging along with Darth Vader to rid the galaxy of Jedi.

The Wii version of the game is being developed by Australias own Krome Studios with Lucasarts themselves working on the PS3/Xbox 360 version. Krome again on the PSP and PS2 versions and n-Space working on the Nintendo DS version. The Wii is a great platform for The Force Unleashed, because the consoles motion-oriented controllers really bring the game to life, said Jim Ward, President of LucasArts. Weve worked hard to make the Wii version of the game unique in order to truly let you unleash the Force.
