The Conduit 2 confirmed in latest Nintendo Power
Character upgrades, co-op support, and splitscreen options are all confirmed for the sequel
Online multiplayer may be the future, but there are a lot of folks for which it just isnt practical, especially among Wii owners. This made The Conduits online-only multiplayer somewhat disappointing for some; however, the sequel will be addressing that. A feature in the latest Nintendo Power magazine has revealed both splitscreen support for two to four players.
Its not just the normal gameplay modes – which were promised more of this time – that can be played offline, though. A new co-op type called Invasion will work both online and locally, so you and up to three friends can blast aliens together.
Weapons are also being added to the experience, but perhaps more interesting is the new character customization system. Multiplayer will now not only be class based but also have suit unlocks to enhance parts of your body. One example given was robotic legs, which would increase the distance you can sprint. One primary suit slot and two secondary slots are what is currently planned. Additionally, the same system that the development team use to set enemies apart will be available to players to change their own looks.
Unfortunately, what wasnt revealed is around when we can expect to get the game in our own hands. Hopefully well hear more at E3.
