Focuses on game creators, everyone from Kojima to Jenova Chen

ACMI is set to host an exhibit entitled “Games Masters”, which profiles over 40 game designers from “arcade heroes” to our modern icons. The exhibition starts on June 28 next year and goes right through to October the 28th, so there’s no excuse to miss this one.

Some of my favourite designers profiled include Kojima, Fumito Ueda, Schefer and of course, Warren Spector. Lot of sweet games between those four. Also of note are Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka, Pac-Man maker Iwatani as well as crowd favourite, Matsaya Matsuura of PaRappa the Rapper fame.

Perhaps most excitingly, Black and White creator Peter Molyneux announced he’d be coming along, although he obviously hasn’t set a date yet. He said that he could “never have imagined when I started out in this industry that there would be an exhibition like Game Masters.”

While he hasn’t said whether he’ll just be taking a look around or giving a talk, I’m going to keep my eyes peeled. Even if he can’t always deliver on his promises, I do love hearing him make them.
