Team Meat reveals 3DS eShop size limit as “reasonable” 2GB

Wiiware limit of 40mb was just a few mb too low for Meat Boy, next game on Wii U?

Speaking in the latest issue of Nintendo Gamer, Team Meat’s Tommy Refenes has revealed that the 3DS eShop has a size limit of 2GB, 50 times that of WiiWare’s 40mb limit. To Refenes, who struggled attempting to compress Super Meat Boy for WiiWare, this new limit is “reasonable” and makes him hopeful for the future.

“If we can in the future, we’d like our next game to be on Wii U as well as everything else.”

Interesting that their next project is beyond the scope of the 3DS itself. Clever people will also notice that the size limit is precisely as large as the SD card that comes with the system, so resign yourselves to an upgrade down the line.
