Nintendo know we’re hungry for more Switch information, they’ve now revealed when we’ll find out more but still want to stress – there’s more to the Switch than what was in that trailer.
Nintendo President, Tatsumi Kimishima has revealed in a new interview with Bloomberg that the ‘core’ of the Switch is an ecosystem and that we’ll see more ideas around that. Different Joy-Cons and other accessories.
“By no means was that everything (in the trailer). It may be appropriate to call them accessories. Or it might be better to call them add-on hardware. It’s probably more correct to call them accessories. You can assume that there will be a wider array.”
So why no software yet either, well Nintendo want people to play it – just like they did with the Wii and Nintendo 3DS – we’ll get that chance in January.
“One thing we still can’t show is the software lineup. We want people to touch the device in January and experience the software for themselves.”
Kimishima also spoke about his surprise that investors had a negative reaction to the consoles unveiling. Nintendo’s shares are starting to recover no doubt because Nintendo’s now set a date to talk about the system once again.
Nintendo will hold a Switch Presentation on January 13th Australian time, put it in your calendar.
