Not quite as super as the title suggests.
If you were thinking of dropping $80 Monster Energy Supercross later this week, you might want to think twice.
Monster Energy Supercross is set to launch on Tuesday on the Switch, PS4, and Xbox One, but it seems like not all versions are created equal. Developer Milestone quietly revealed on the game’s official website that the track editor — one of the major selling points of the game — will not be available on the Nintendo Switch version of the game. This is despite the Switch logo appearing in the track editor announcement trailer, where there is no mention of the Switch version missing out.
In addition to this, Vooks has been able to confirm that the Switch version of the game does not feature multiplayer of any kind — neither local or online — and will be entirely a single player experience. Many suspected this was the case when the eShop listing showed up in the Coming Soon section; despite the game having up to 12 player online multiplayer on other platforms, the eShop listing only showed 1 player. eShop listings tend to change prior to launch, but it seems like this time it was right on the money.
This isn’t the first time this has happened, either. Late last year, Milestone brought MXGP3 to the Switch, a game which featured online multiplayer on PS4 and Xbox One but was omitted in the Switch version of the game. Milestone did not respond to a request for comment in time for publishing.
Predictions time once again.
More than 450 games added this final week.
