Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Top 8 Final now most viewed event in EVO history

279,000 checking out the Top 8.

The fighting game tournament EVO 2019 was held over the weekend, and it created a little bit of history.

Once its inclusion was almost a joke to fighting game fans, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has now claimed the crown for the most-watched event in EVO history.

At its peak, during the Top 8 finals, there were 279,000 people watching live on Twitch.

Leonardo “MkLeo” Lopez was crowned the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate champion for 2019, playing as Joker.
