It seems Nintendo Japan have delved into the perilous depths and salvaged a treasure indeed. Super Smash Brothers – the Nintendo 64 original – will be hitting the Japanese Virtual console in January. A great start to the year for them, sure, but if a high profile title such as this has hit Japanese VC then us Westerners are no doubt bound to see it in the not-too-distant future. Japanese gamers get milked for an extra 200 points on the normal Nintendo 64 rate. The same stunt was pulled with Ocarina of Time, though, and we received it at the standard 1,000… so it’s likely we won’t be struck with the 1,200 point price tag.
