Super Smash Bros. for Wii U smashing pre-order numbers, outpacing Mario Kart 8

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has revealed that preorders of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is outpacing that of Mario Kart 8 and he believes this will also help the Wii U as well.
Mario Kart 8 helped to move a lot of Wii U consoles, well more than the smaller amount selling at the time. Could Smash Bros. do the same?
Speaking to Bloomberg, Reggie told the reporters that “The launch of Mario Kart 8 has essentially doubled our Wii U sales year-on-year, Our expectation is that the sell-through for Smash is going to be very strong, certainly on par with what we saw with Mario Kart 8. We think the impact on hardware will be similarly dramatic.”
Reggie also believes that getting more consoles into homes could get games like Call of Duty back on the console and games like Destiny for the first time.
“Consumers buy the hardware so they can play the software, When you have a robust library of games, that’s when consumers jump in.”
Are you jumping in with Smash?
Yep, picking up a Wii U for Smash Bros. Keen to get into Pikmin 3 as well!
Bring it in on! I have mates at church who are itching for some 8 player action. Hopefully this will bring Wii U sales on up for a hearty 2015.
