Nintendo has announced that Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS has now passed 2.8 million copies sold worldwide.

The game was launched in Japan on September 13th, in Europe and America on October 3rd and here in Australia on October 4th. That’s only three weeks to almost sell three million copies.

Now you can see why Nintendo wanted a 3DS version of the game. Sales include both digital and physical sales from stores.
