Nintendo has just pushed live the latest update to Super Smash Bros. for Ninendo 3DS, it brings the game to version 1.0.5 and brings with it a ton of new functionality and some tweaks.

Firstly, those with a New Nintendo 3DS or New 3DS XL can now use their amiibo figures with the game, simply just touch the amiibo to the bottom screen (where it says to) and your amiibo comes to life. Nintendo Japan at least say that the NFC adapter for the older models is still coming and will be released in the middle of the year. Another update will be required to to use it.

Sharing got a big boost in this update with the ability to share photos, replays and Mii Fighters with friends and the public alike. You can send directly to your friends on your friends list or to a publicly searchable database. Data for both is deleted after 30 days.

You’ll also now be able to post photos to one specific Miiverse community from within the game.

Note all your old replays won’t work with this new version and will be deleted, you’ll also need to update the game to play with other people who have updated as the two game versions aren’t compatible.

An interesting patch! Which amiibo will try out first on the New 3DS?
