Super Mario 25th Anniversary edition DSi LL unveiled for Japan (update: DSi too!)
Nintendo introduces a special design DSi LL and DSi (FIRST ON VOOKS) as part of the festivities
Amongst the flurry of 3DS announcements today was the announcement of a limited edition DSi LL to mark the 25th anniversary of the Super Mario series. Now we say “LL” because the model has only been announced for Japan at the current time.
It has a slick red body and will come with a matching large red stylus along with all the other standard accessories. The packaging, also red and bearing the 25th anniversary logo, very much resembles the Super Mario Collection Special Pack box). On the top cover of the LL, there are mushroom, flower and star sprites as well as the words “SUPER MARIO BROS. 25th ANNIVERSARY”.
The special model will be out on October 28 for the price of a regular DSi LL, ¥18,000.
UPDATE, FIRST ON VOOKS: There will also be a special edition of the DSi available through 7-11 stores in Japan. This one has a sole Mario sprite and will be out on October 28 for ¥14800.
