Square Enix considering Final Fantasy XIV for Nintendo Switch

Over the weekend the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival took place in Europe. During the event Square Enix has mentioned that a Nintendo Switch version of the game was under consideration.

This isn’t the first time the company has discussed the possibly of this happening. As far back as August 2015, director and producer Naoki Yoshida said that they were open to putting the game on the Switch, that’s back when it was called the NX.

If Final Fantasy XIV did come to the Switch it wouldn’t be the only MMO on the system with Dragon Quest X also planned for some time this year.

Is Final Fantasy XIV something you’d like to see on the Switch?

    I’d buy it? So would my partner. Would be nice to relax and play that kind of game on the Switch.

    I would absolutely buy FFXIV for Switch. Although, I’d need to know whether they’re streaming the game like DQ X on 3DS, or running native like the PS4 version. My concern is that the PS4 version has terrible performance, so it would require a lot of work for the Switch…
