Japanese RPG mega-franchise Dragon Quest is heading to the DSi Ware service, with an exclusive new adventure.

Square-Enix and Advance Wars developer Intelligent Systems are teaming up to bring a series of six DSi titles to the console. The first is Dragons Quest Wars which is a strategy slash board-game featuring the world and setting of the legendary RPG franchise. The game will be multiplayer focused, featuring 4-player online play as well as local play. The game is out in Japan in June for 500 Nintendo Points, but we’re hoping to recieve indication of a western release soon.

No clues yet as to whether the remaining five titles will be for DSiWare or are retail games, but regardless this is welcome news to Dragon Quest fans.
