Splatoon has been so popular in Japan that its getting its own tournament series. It’ll join Puzzles and Dragons in the series hosted the parent company of Nicovideo. The first event is in September and runs all the way through to January next year.

There will be over $1 million in prize money up for grabs. This thing is huge for Japan, it’s being hosted over 40 events in different cities include Fukuoka, Sapporo, Nagoya, Osaka, Miyagi, Hiroshima, Kagawa and of course Tokyo.

The tournament will travel around and be played out of a convertable truck, not unlike the Inkopolis Plaza.
