Splatoon 2’s first Splatfest is a demo available on July 16th
Nintendo has announced that the first Splatoon 2 Splatfest will take place, well it’ll take place before the actual game is out.
The Splatfest, which is themed Cake vs Ice Cream will take place on July 16th in Australia, a week before the game is out. The first theme will be Cake vs Ice Cream.

Unfortunately for Aussies, the time of the Splatfest aren’t looking great;
- Perth: 6.00AM – 10.00AM
- Adelaide/Darwin: 7.30AM – 11.30AM
- Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, Canberra, Sydney: 8.00AM – 12.00PM
Note: a previous version of this article featured times translated from the European stream, as official times for Australia had not yet been posted by Nintendo. The article has been updated with the correct times.
Last night’s Splatoon 2 Direct unleashed a tonne of new information for the game, including detailing the Nintendo Switch Online application which will launch the same day as the game on July 21st. Perhaps most interesting for those who like their Splatfests, the Direct stated that there would be Splatfests for two whole years, which should be more than enough to keep the game feeling fresh until the inevitable Splatoon 3.
That time couldn’t be any worse for us. 🙁
It 100% could have been worse.
Think 2am.
Ahh sorry mate 🙁
Well at least it’s a Saturday midnight, could be worse. Are these two ladies replacing Callie and Marie as the hosts while those two are more involved in the campaign story?
Why is that a bad time for Australians? Sunday morning works perfectly for people who work!
