During today’s Splatoon 2 World Championship 2019, Nintendo had a couple of game announcements to make alongside the tournament. First up the game will receive its final Splatfest on July 18th and will run for 3 days.
It’s the Splatocalypse and you’ll have to decide whether to be on Team Chaos and Team Order. The Splatfest will feature a new Shifty Station and all the old ones from previous Splatfests will return as well. There’s also new gear for the final time.
After that version 5.0.0 of the game will launch and all the Turf War Splatfest modes will be able to be played in a private battle at any time. This is near certain to be the last big update for the game as content support for it winds down.
