Following up from the 2015 hit Splatoon, Nintendo have announced Splatoon 2 for Switch.
Things look familiar in Splatoon 2 and that’s only a good thing. As previously suspected, it was confirmed that a new species of squid will join in on the battle. That’s not all though. With new and improved stages, weapons and special weapons it looks to be an inking good time.
One of the new weapons show off is called the Splat Dualies, a pair of ink shooting pistols that can also be used to give Inklings a speed boost. Though they weren’t discussed, some new special weapons included a mine of sorts that can be ricocheted off walls and a giant butt that rains ink down onto your opponents.
The controls were also mentioned and how they differ to the original game on Wii U. To start, you can use the Joy-cons or pro controller, either on the TV or in handheld mode. You still use the gyro sensors in the controller to aim. To bring up the map you will have to hit the X button, and to Super Jump, your teammates will be assigned a button too.
Splatoon 2 is slated for a release during Summer 2017 in Japan. Stay tuned to Vooks for news on the local release.
