Spanish translation of Fragile Dreams to benefit from fanbase contribution
Rising Star Games are working together with fans to produce the Spanish localisation of mystery JRPG Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
In an unusual but welcome move, Spanish website DSWii.es approached publisher Rising Star with an offer to assist in the translation process. Rising Star accepted, and in very short time, 50 volunteers collaborated to turn the games 35,000 word long script into Spanish.
Typically, publishers do not endorse fan-assembled unofficial translation projects, and a few more zealous companies move to have such projects squashed. However, Rising Star have bucked the trend and embraced the concept. Rising Star’s marketing director Raul Nieto Garcia spoke of the collaboration- “This is a great opportunity for us to connect with our fan base in Spain through such a unique and innovative project…We hope Spanish gamers will appreciate the joint efforts of Blogocio and Rising Star games to provide the best experience possible when playing Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon on their Nintendo Wii.”
The game launches in Europe on March 19th with the Aussie release hitting a week later on the 25th with an RRP of $79.95.
