The only Nintendo platform it's coming to is the 3DS… for now.

It’s been hinted at for the longest time but a sequel to Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing has finally been announced. Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed will be hitting the Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, Vita and the Xbox 360 later this year.

The whole idea this time around is that your racer will take to the skies and water, not under the water like Mario Kart 7 however but on it. The racer will transform around you as you as you take on the skies, the water and land. New characters confirmed to be appearing in the game are Golden Axe’s dwarf Gilius Thunderhead and Vyse from Skies of Arcadia. They of course won’t be the only new characters.

The game has a simple ‘2012’ release date at this stage. Rumours suggest the game will be coming to the Wii U as well. We can only hope.
