Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed announced

It’s been hinted at for the longest time but a sequel to Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing has finally been announced. Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed will be hitting the Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, Vita and the Xbox 360 later this year.

The whole idea this time around is that your racer will take to the skies and water, not under the water like Mario Kart 7 however but on it. The racer will transform around you as you as you take on the skies, the water and land. New characters confirmed to be appearing in the game are Golden Axe’s dwarf Gilius Thunderhead and Vyse from Skies of Arcadia. They of course won’t be the only new characters.

The game has a simple ‘2012’ release date at this stage. Rumours suggest the game will be coming to the Wii U as well. We can only hope.

I enjoyed the original so I’ll be keeping my eye on this one. It will be interesting to see if this is released on Wii U. I can’t see why not, guess it depends if Nintendo gave Sega a few more development kits.

I would like this as a Wii U launch title. I have the first one for PS3. It’s a pretty good game. I hope the new boating and flying sections don’t mess it up too much. Plus Vyse!!! That’s means instant buy for me. I hope there is a SoA stage to cruise/fly around in.
