Sonic Mania Plus brings two new characters and a physical release
Update 1: The local distributor for Sega has confirmed that we will indeed get Sonic Mania Plus in stores here in Australia and it will come with all the same goodies as the US.
We’ll get the superior Mega Drive cover instead of the Genesis one too.
Original Story: There was a Sonic panel at the SXSW Conference this morning and there were some reveals – one of which was Sonic Mania Plus.
Plus will be a free upgrade for people who have the game already, and it will also be released at retail. It has two new playable characters, Mighty and Ray, an all-new “Encore Mode” mode and a 4-player competition mode.
The physical version also comes with a holographic slipcover, reversible Genesis/Mega Drive style cover and a 32-page Sonic Mania Art Book.
It’ll retail for $30US, and will be out this Winter (Summer in the US). We’ll let you know when we have some Australian details.
