New screenshot reveals a red and blue hedgehog. What could it mean?

A recently released screenshot of Sonic Colours might be indicative of the existence of a multiplayer mode. The screenshot features Sonic, being closely pursued by a red coloured version of himself. Whilst this could simply be part of the single player experience, it does hint at the possibility of a multiplayer mode being included.

Unfortunately from the screenshot, little can be confirmed. It’s possible that it could be a race between two players; however it could also be a co-operative experience, as the two players attempt to beat the clock. These are just two possibilities, amongst a host of others.

Sonic Colours is set for an Australia release on November 11th, 2010. Would you like to see multiplayer in the upcoming Sonic title? Discuss it the forums.
