Sonic and Tails get new voice actors

Sonics voice acting has always been one of contention, but will a new voice appease fans?

Sega has announced that Sonic and Tails will be getting new voice actors for future games. Replacing the current voice actor for Sonic is Roger Craig Smith. His previous work includes Chris Redfield in Resident Evil 5, Ezio in Assassins Creed 2 as well as other numerous anime characters. He’s been doing Sega stuff for a while though too, with characters from Madworld, Valkyria Chronicles and Crazy Taxi on the PSP being done by Mr Smith.

Tails too is getting a new voice, with the role going to Kate Higgens. She too has previously done a ton of SEGA stuff with roles also in MadWorld and Valkyria Chronicles. She also does the voice of Sakura Haruno in Naruto. Mike Pollock keeps the voice of Dr ‘Eggman’ Robotnik as he has since 2005, after taking the reins from the late Deem Bristow.
