Californian publisher Dispatch Games has announced today that puzzle game Soldam: Drop, Connect, Erase will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in the United States’ Fall of 2017.

Soldam: Drop, Connect, Erase is a remaster of a classic Jaleco arcade puzzle game, which has been refreshed with updated graphics, gameplay and a tonne of new game modes, including new difficulty levels, a new challenge mode, and a classic arcade mode.

The game also features an all new Showdown Mode, in which players compete online to clear fruit and sabotage each other, much like Versus Mode in Puyo Puyo Tetris. It will be available on the eShop and at retail in the US.

Soldam is actually about as old as Puyo Puyo! It just never really caught on.

Glad to see this is getting localised. I’ll definitely have to pick it up.

Well, this is certainly a surprise. It’s a $10ish eShop exclusive in Japan, and even that seems a bit much for this considering its bland visuals and prehistoric production values. I’m curious to see how much the publisher deems fit to charge for this at retail.
