A relatively quiet update from the official Smash Bros. website has listed Olimar & Pikmin as a new playable character for the fourth instalment in the Super Smash Bros. series.
In an obvious bid to drum up some hype for the upcoming release of Pikmin 3 in Japan (and shortly thereafter for the rest of us), the update features roughly nine new screenshots of Olimar and his alien pals.
It’s interesting to note, however, that winged and rock Pikmin don’t seem to appear in the media thus far – so we’re not sure if Olimar will be updated appropriately to reflect his new abilities in Pikmin 3 as of yet. Perhaps in another update, perhaps? We’re expecting a trailer to reveal Olimar and his friends later on, maybe they’ll appear there?
