The Shovel Knight amiibo is in Australian stores now

After a bit of wait the Shovel Knight amiibo is available to both online and in store. Yes! Your local JB Hi-Fi and Target should at least have one in stocks – today. EB Games is still only stocking them online but members of the Vooks team and our readers have found the amiibo in stock, in stores at both Target and JB Hi-Fi.

There’s just one problem.

It’s more expensive than it should be. Everywhere else in the world the Shovel Knight amiibo is the standard amiibo price – what would be $17.95 here in Australia. Unfortunately, for whatever reason he’s $24.95 here and with the scarcity of stock we’re expecting don’t expect too many discounts on him specifically.

Yacht Club Games, Shovel Knight’s developer have been pretty keen to spruik the fact that he should be the same price – guess that memo didn’t flow all the way down to Australia.

I am happy to pay a little more for 3rd party amiibo, if they wanted to charge more, but as they are saying it should be the same price.. for shame on those stocking them.

Mine is on its way from EB, so when it gets here I will love him and hold him and treat him real nice.

Got my email earlier this afternoon- apparently I should have mine by early next week. If you are still yet to receive your email, you can log onto ebgames website and under your order history it should tell you what stage your order is at. From there you could always use the tracking number, they list under your order, on the australian post website to further track it after it leaves ebgames hands. Hope that helps 🙂

I received my email, even when tracking it just says in transit with no eta.

Really annoyed its in stores now, but with postage from EB its close to $30 and it looks like i could be waiting longer.

It’s because it’s being distributed by one of Australia’s smallest distributors for video games and unfortunately they’ve deemed it necessary to mark it up. At least stock is more readily available than was initially planned.

Also, sucks to be in WA where train derailments have caused a lot of delays.
