Sunsoft have lived up to their promise of a surprise project for fans, announcing a modern update of NES classic Master Blaster made exclusively for WiiWare

The game was only announced today and is set to hit the American WiiWare store tomorrow – completely hitting Master Blaster fans from left field. The game offers the same intense shooting action gameplay that characterised the original, albeit with updated visuals and all-new levels to boot.

The surprise announcement follows up the assertion Sunsoft made two months ago when the original Master Blaster was released on the Virtual Console that they had an extra treat for fans up their sleave. Hopefully, the double-punch Sunsoft have delivered with their WiiWare and Virtual Console releases means success for one of arcade gaming’s best developers and they continue to pump out new games.

Master Blaster: Overdrive launches with a price of 1000 Nintendo Points. No word on when Australia or even Europe get the game for that matter, but we will be very impressed if the game makes next week’s batch of download updates.
