The Devil Survivor series hits the third dimension but not as you would properly expect

Atlus have recently announced that their rather popular cult series Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor will be receiving another installment, titled "Overclock". Despite being quite popular in select circles, Devil Survivor Overclock is not a new sequel but instead a 3D remake of the game that recently graced the DSs 2D screens. Atlus promises that this remake will feature full voice acting, higher resolution graphics, over 150 demons to play around with and a new scenario titled "The 8th Day" at the end of the game too. Famitsu estimates the game is 90% complete and as such we can expect it for the Japanese launch of the 3DS.

Despite being released fairly recently for the Nintendo DS, Atlus were quick to reaffirm that the game has a lot of new content. Allegedly, there are over 20,000 lines of spoken voiced dialogue, a generally larger map, new maps and a difficulty select option. There is one big question though – and thats just how the game will utilise the 3D capabilities of the 3DS. During stat viewing where the demons appear, the 3D will be utilised to add depth to the screen and make the demons look as if they were flying "straight at you". A bit underwhelming, yes, but the extra content from Atlus seems to be pretty substantial anyway.

Devil Survivor: Overclock is currently only confirmed for a release in Japan, however were hoping someone will pick it up for release over here. When we receive news of a possible local release, youll be the first to know. The teaser site is available to view also: dsoc.atlusnet.jp
