And with another Friday comes another Virtual Console update. With today’s update, we’re given the opportunity to savor the likes of Phantasy Star 2 and Eternal Champions, two titles for the Mega Drive at the usual price point of 800 points. Originally released in 1990 and included in many different compilations, Phantasy Star 2 introduces players to world of Mota, which is regulated by a super computer known as Mother Brain. When the Mother Brain malfunctions however, players must step into the shoes of Rolf in order to put things right. More inside The second title, Eternal Champions, is an interesting fighting game where the player takes the role of a fighter who has been killed. They must fight their way through the other deceased fighters until they are given a chance to defeat the Eternal Champion, a character who will give the fighter an opportunity to return to Earth, alive, and get revenge for their premature deaths.
