Sega finally joins the Wii U Virtual Console with Sonic Advance

Could more Sega Game Boy Advance games be on the way?

While the Nintendo 3DS has enjoyed the support of Sega both from a 3D Classics and Virtual Console point of view, the Wii U has been left Sega-less since its launch.

The game will be released on the 18th of February in Japan, no western release has been confirmed yet. Sonic Advance was originally released in 2002 to good reactions from the media and fans alike, it was a great continuation of the franchise in portable form. The game was followed by two sequels and even a spin-off brawler called Sonic Battle (read our ancient review of it here).

Sega was quite the supporter of the Game Boy Advance releasing many titles for the system. Games include ChuChu Rocket! and Super Monkey Ball Jr, even franchises Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5, Shining Soul, Sega Rally and other Sega arcade games got a spin on the Game Boy Advance.

If Sonic is any indication we can look forward to those games and more in the future.
