Nintendo has published to its Japanese Youtube channel the first footage of how Game Boy Advance games will look on the Wii U.

Now we know that most of the games that are coming out are pretty great, but how is that emulation? Well as expected the games are a little darker that you’d expect, this is due to Nintendo adjusting the contrast and brightness of the games originally to suit a screen which wasn’t back lit. Hopefully it’s not too distracting when it’s on the TV or GamePad.

Next week Japan will receive Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, Golden Sun, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity and Advance Wars 1+2. In Japan the first two Advance Wars titles were bundled onto one cartridge. All of the GBA games on the Wii U Virtual Console are 700 Yen which is about $8 AUD.

Nintendo Japan is even offering a deal, if you buy two you get the second one 30% off.

While this all sounds cool, at this stage in Australia (and in Europe) we’re only getting the one title on April 4th – Advance Wars. But we’re still a week away, Nintendo could add more games to the launch week.
